RiderChat ("RiderChat," "we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered SMS lead-capture platform for real estate agents ("Agents") and their prospective buyers ("Buyers"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website, request an invitation, register as an Agent, or interact with our AI assistant ("Randy") via SMS.
By using our website or services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Invitation Requests: name, email, mobile number, brokerage, city, number of current listings, and plan interest, submitted through our Request Invitation form.
- Agent Account Information: name, email, mobile number, brokerage, listing details, payment information (processed by Stripe), and any other information provided during onboarding.
- Buyer / SMS Conversation Data: when a Buyer texts a listing number, we collect their mobile phone number and the content of their SMS conversation with Randy, including any information they voluntarily share (for example, budget, timeline, or showing preferences).
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Standard website usage data (such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URLs) collected through our website hosting platform.
2. How We Use Information
- To evaluate and respond to invitation requests
- To provision and operate Agent accounts, including SMS numbers, AI conversation configuration, and billing
- To enable Randy to respond to Buyer inquiries and route qualified leads to the relevant Agent
- To send Agents real-time notifications about new inquiries and hot leads
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To communicate with Agents and prospective Agents about their account or request
- To improve and maintain our services
- To comply with legal obligations
3. SMS / Text Messaging
RiderChat operates as an SMS-based service. By texting a RiderChat-enabled listing number, a Buyer consents to receive automated and AI-generated text message replies related to that property. Message frequency varies based on the conversation. Message and data rates may apply. Buyers may reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages, or HELP for assistance. RiderChat does not sell or rent Buyer phone numbers to third parties.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With the relevant Agent, so they can respond to and manage their own leads
- With service providers who help us operate the platform, including CRM and SMS infrastructure, Twilio (underlying SMS carrier infrastructure), OpenAI (AI conversation processing), and Stripe (payment processing)
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of RiderChat, our Agents, or others
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
5. Data Retention
We retain invitation request data, Agent account data, and Buyer conversation data for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Agents may request deletion of a closed listing's data subject to applicable record-keeping requirements.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including relying on the security infrastructure of our service providers (Twilio, Stripe, OpenAI). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent to future communications. Canadian residents may exercise rights available under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 11.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Users
RiderChat is based in Canada and currently operates in Ontario, Canada, with plans to expand to the United States. If you are located outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective Date" above. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
